A Nairobi man has been charged with allegedly defiling and impregnating a schoolgirl. Kiprotich Sigey reportedly committed the felony several times between May and June 2021 in the Kangemi region, according to the charging document.

On the alternative charge, Kiprotich is said to have committed indecent acts with the minor on similar dates.

The court records further state that the accused and the minor met within their residential area where he is said to have enticed her to a relationship.

Police say the minor had been visiting the man until July when the girl’s family noticed she had changed suspecting that she was dating.

Upon confrontation, she informed her mother of the illicit affair who chased her out of their home and having nowhere to go she relocated to Kiprotich’s abode where she set camp until the end of September when members of the public intervened.

The minor was taken to health facilities where she was confirmed pregnant before the matter was reported to Kabete police station.

The accused person was arrested and arraigned in court.

He denied the charges before S.R. Renee Kitagwa and was set free on a bond of Ksh400,000 pending mention on October 26.

Last month, A 71-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment before a Kisumu court for allegedly defiling his 15-year-old daughter in 2020.

Bernard Ngonga received his sentencing before Everlene Onzere the Principal Magistrate of Tamu law court in Muhoroni sub-county within Kisumu.

The court heard that Ngonga allegedly defiled and impregnated his two daughters between the months of June and September last year but however, was yesterday found guilty and charged for defiling the younger one.

The court established that Ngonga would threaten his daughter with a kitchen knife before defiling her and would threaten her not to report him to anybody.

When the minor tried to seek help, all her efforts went futile as nobody was willing to assist her to get justice.

After their parents separated, her father re-married a second wife whom the minor would report the indecent act his father was doing to but all she did was to turn her down.
