Nakuru woman who stabbed her husband detained

A woman who allegedly stabbed her husband was arraigned before a Nakuru law court after being held in custody.

Hellen Kerubo is accused of committing an assault occasioning bodily harm to her husband, Onyancha, as contrary to Section 251 of the Penal code. The accident reportedly occurred on the night of September 21, 2019.

The particulars of the case are that the accused committed the act at Hilton in London Estate within Nakuru Town West Constituency.

State Counsel, Faith Maalim informed the court that the accused was apprehended on 22 September, 2019. She also added that the victim was admitted in Nakuru Level Hospital where he is currently in a critical and unconscious condition. She further requested the courts to deny the accused bail as the charge sheet may be amended to read a different charge other than assault.

Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Usui denied the accused bail and detained her at Kaptembwa police station until September 27, 2019 when the case would be mentioned before the court again.
