Three Arrested For Homosexuality In Kajiado

by Wakili Liam

Homosexuality is a crime in Kenya. According to Section 162(c) of the Penal Code, any person who permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for 14 years.

A trio of men was arrested and arraigned at the Kajiado Law Courts on Tuesday 1 October, 2019 for allegedly practicing homosexuality.

The three include a secondary school teacher from Kajiado and two men from Mombasa. They were identified as George Sane, Dickens Ouma and Martin Kithure.

The suspects were charged with the offence of engaging in an unnatural act contrary to Section 162(a) of the penal code.

The court was told that Mr George Sane, a teacher at Marhab Girls Secondary School in Kajiado, had sexual intercourse with Kithure and Ouma against their order of nature.

According to a report by Citizen Digital, the three met on Facebook before arranging for a meeting in Kajiado where they agreed that the teacher would pay Ksh. 10,000 to each person for the sexual act.

However, the teacher failed to pay the agreed amount and insisted on paying half the price, prompting the two men to report the matter at Kajiado Police Station.

They were all arrested and presented in court for practicing homosexuality.

The suspects denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Ksh. 100,000 each.
